Our staff is comprised of experienced adults and well trained youth leaders the interact with and monitor all program elements. It is our belief that leadership skills are best learned and taught in environments that supply youth with the hands-on experiences of outdoor living.
Program Eligible Youth
Our youth development program is available to boys and girls 10 1/2 years old and completed the 5th grade, to 20 years of age. There are three phases of the program, each designed for the maturity and age level of each youth. Youth ages 13 thru 20 years may apply to serve as Staff if they successfully completed Phase 2, Phase 3, or ALD. This is the natural progression for youth who want to have the ultimate leadership learning experience. Discover the best phase for your youth and read about the aims, skills for leadership, and the reason White Stag has been training youth to develop leadership skills for over 55 years.

Skills of Leadership
The White Stag Leadership Program practices leadership development through intentional learning. It’s our belief that effective leaders never stop learning. Our program is designed to supervise and monitor each candidate’s progress.
It’s our experience that candidates have some idea of what leadership is. Our program is designed to start with what is already known, while teaching and developing skills that are not known. This is referred to as manager of learning.
Our focus is on the basics. The age of the participant will determine which parts of the eleven leadership competencies they will learn while having opportunities to apply new skills at home and in their community.
The White Stag Difference
White Stag understands the best learning happens when the mind and body are working together. Our camps provide challenging learning experiences that are hands-on in an outdoor environment.
White Stag provides a safe environment for youth to demonstrate new behaviors that enable them to be the best they can be. We help our youth understand that the opposite of success is not failure, but the act of quitting.
Our programs are designed with boys and girls learning and working together. Our adult staff are available to help with any challenges or difficulties that may arise.
The White Stag program stresses learning the whole-person. Leadership is learned with the hands in the outdoors, with the head by employing the eleven skills of leadership and with the heart when experiencing the White Stag spirit and traditions.
We have a limited amount of space. Register for White Stag today.
